A celebration of American Archives Month, Chicago Open Archives, connects community members with the collections, programs, and services of archival repositories throughout the city and suburbs.

• In 2020 and 2021, CAA coordinated an online symposium, titled Chicago Open Archives: An Unconference. Recordings are available.

• Starting in 2019, CAA has produced three seasons of a Chicago Open Archives podcast.

• October 2018, the "Chicago Archives 200: Celebrating Illinois History" theme attracted 250 visitors to outreach events hosted by 24 museums, archives, libraries, universities, and local cultural organizations.

• October 2017, the "Follow the Clues to the Hidden Stories" theme attracted 350 visitors to outreach events hosted by 25 museums, archives, libraries, universities, and local cultural organizations.
  

• October 2016, a record number of 31 repositories welcomed 313 visitors.

• October 2015, the inaugural year of Chicago Open Archives with 21 sites and over 350 visitors.
