Newberry Library - 200+ Years of History: Illinois Leading Up to 1818 (Chicago Open Archives)
When
13 Oct 2018
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Location
60 West Walton Street, Chicago, Illinois 60610
As we celebrate 200 years of official Illinois statehood, Newberry archivists pose the question: what about Illinois before 1818? We will showcase items that tell the story of the people, places, and languages that made up what we know as Illinois in the late 18th century and early 19th century. Materials including books, manuscripts, and maps help us understand the development of the state of Illinois.
