The Winthrop Group has an immediate opening for a part-time Records Management Specialist to assist the Heritage Communications team of a global service organization.  This is a six-month Winthrop contract with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units and Office of General Counsel to prepare and/or refine records management policies and schedules
  • Develop relationships with business process managers, product owners, and project managers to ensure that record-keeping requirements are incorporated into developing technologies
  • Implement outreach initiatives across the organization to increase awareness and use of program services through training and regular communications
  • Assess and further develop procedures and training resources for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor compliance with records retention policies and procedures
  • Coordinate transfer of records to and from records storage and ensure accuracy of storage inventory
  • Work closely with Archives Specialists to ensure regular transfer of historical records to the Archives
  • Respond to queries from internal users

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years enterprise records management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing both analog and digital records
  • Strong knowledge of retention guidelines and relevant records and information management technology applications for records retention
  • Knowledge of privacy and GDPR requirements for data and records retention
  • Strong commitment to outreach and promoting awareness of the records management program
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and advocate at all levels of organizational staff
  • Experience with archival records and knowledge of the role of archives in the records life cycle
  • Ability to manage time effectively, balance multiple priorities, and adjust to changing needs or deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
  • Exceptional customer service, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • MLS/MLIS with a concentration in archives or other graduate degree with Certificate in Archival Studies, ACA or records management certification
  • Multi-national records management experience
  • Experience using SharePoint and/or OneDrive

Work Environment

The Records Management Specialist will work remotely until at least January 2021 and possibly for the duration of the contract. A computer and other necessary equipment and software will be provided for remote and on-site work.


Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
