The Collections Assistant will support collections development, collections management, and exhibitions-related activity associated with the design and development of the Obama Presidential Center (OPC) and the OPC Museum’s inaugural core exhibits. As such, the Collections Assistant will provide clerical and research assistance to facilitate and inform acquisitions and exhibit-related artifact assessment and review processes; assist with artifact handling, packing, unpacking, rehousing, and storage; help create and maintain collection records including updating the artifacts database and documenting incoming material; coordinate and track artifact movement; expedite returns/disposals of declined materials; participate in donor and lender outreach events and other initiatives; and provide additional acquisitions and exhibitions support as assigned.
