Summer job posting: Digital Preservation Intern, Northwestern University

Under guidance from the Digital Preservation Librarian, the digital preservation aide will work in the Repository & Digital Curation workgroup on preparing legacy digitized collections for ingest into the Libraries' new repository system. They will assess the content, determining if it's ready to ingest, or needs additional work, such as metadata creation or other information gathering. The digital preservation aide will then work in the Libraries' new Hyrax-based content management system to ingest legacy collections into the repository.

This position is full time (37.5 hours per week) during summer 2018 only. Work must be done during business hours (8:30-5pm, Monday through Friday).

The ideal candidate for this position is very detail-oriented, can work well independently, and has excellent time-management skills. Some familiarity or experience with digital repository systems and/or digital preservation concepts and actions preferred. Current students and recent graduates from library programs are encouraged to apply.
