Chicago Open Archives event: Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes tour of our archival storage area, an introduction to our holdings by staff members and a hands-on viewing opportunity of select material from the archives and the artists' book collection. We will show you how to request material for future visits and screen select performance documentation throughout all three days of Chicago Open Archives.

The tour and viewing will last approximately 1 hour. Registration is not necessary, but is encouraged. This event is free of charge.

Visitors may stay and browse material until 4 PM on all three days.

The Flaxman Library Special Collections house an array of personal and business papers, amongst them the archives of Randolph Street Gallery and Three Walls Gallery, in addition to rare films, artists’ books and other unique materials that support SAIC’s curriculum and allow for in-depth research with original source materials.
